Abstract:
The nature of sectoral and occupational labour demand trends, given South Africa’s
economic growth path, have defined much of the debate around skills shortages, high levels of unemployment and the need for a more equitably growth path. It is in this nexus between the nature of economic growth and the role of skills in this process, that this proposed research programme is located.
